Today, I went to work just like any other day and received very interesting news...I work at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital on the weekends doing newborn hearing tests. "How is this done?", one might ask. I place ear muffs over the babies ears, and three electrodes in specific places, then I have to make sure the baby does not move or cry because that will mess up the test and there is a possibility that the baby may (refer) or not pass! Well, I get a call from my supervisor and she said that I am now responsible to go to the pediatrics unit and test any babies that have been on antibiotics or have had jaundice and they have to be getting discharged from the hospital that day or near future. Well to say the least I was expecting her to tell me that we will only test like the 5 day old babies...nope 6 month old babies and under! I thought to myself, "If I have a six month old that is not sleeping how in the world am I going to get him/her not to move during the test! I have yet to figure out that question! I lucked out today, all of my babies were under 2 mo. old! I was rejoicing!! hahaha
I just thought I'd jot down a few of today's events! Kinda boring...maybe something interesting will happen to me in a few days that will be worth reading!
Bye for now!
